WATER experts are calling for the Federal Government to investigate the alleged construction of a dam along the Paroo River.
The Queensland Government has been accused of allowing a dam and more than ten kilometres of diversion channels to be built on along the Murray-Darling Basin's last free-flowing river.
A moratorium was imposed in 2001 to prevent any development on the river, which flows along the Queensland-New South Wales border.
Satellite images taken in June 2008 contain evidence of possible developments. Experts claim the water could be being diverted for irrigation.
