NEWAGE Industries has released a range of plastic barbed fittings for both multi-use and single-use/disposable liquid applications.
The Thermobarb fittings are available in nylon, polyethylene, PVDF and polypropylene materials and are suitable for applications in the chemical, food and beverage, packaging and manufacturing industries.
The company says the units have a compact, lightweight design, excellent chemical resistance and high impact strength.
They are available in a range of different styles, including adapters, straight connectors, ‘Y’s, ‘T’s, four-way connectors, elbows, reducers and hose nipples. All of these have multiple barbs for secure connections.
According to the manufacturer, each material provides specific benefits. Nylon, for instance, resists physical stress and abrasion, while polyethylene performs better at low temperatures than other plastics. Furthermore, PVDF handles higher temperatures and pressures well, while polypropylene is solvent and chemical resistant.
