EATON has released a range of flexible rubber hoses designed to handle synthetic lubricants and biodiesel fluids.
The GH100 ESP hose includes a hydrogenated nitrile rubber tube which is wrapped in an aramid/poly braid reinforcement and a polyester abrasion-resistant cover.
The company says it can handle biodiesel fluid applications with temperatures up to 125 degrees Celsius and lubricant applications up to 175 degrees Celsius.
According to the manufacturer, such fluids can make normal hoses brittle and prone to cracking when the temperature exceeds 100 degrees Celsius. Similarly, some biodiesel blends can ‘bake’ the elastomers needed to keep it flexible.
The developer claims the 100 degree Celsius limit can be quite easily exceeded in many common applications and therefore costly replacements are needed frequently. This hose is designed to reduce an operator’s expenses and product downtime.
